Artist Laura Gilbert handed out 10,00 signed and numbered zero dollar prints in front of the NYSE. She wanted to make a statement that mirrored the current financial crisis by making such a large print run, and handing out her artwork for free. She devalued her own art, just as the government is doing to the dollar via bailouts.
The American Depress.... Sign Your Life Away piece is from the D*Face aPOPcalypse now show which was running in the UK through October 5th. Looking at some of the pictures in flickr the show was super strong as there was piece after piece of cool iconic imagery reworked by D*Face.....The pictures of some of the pieces were so good I just HAD to share.
