Let's Talk Stocks.... Part Deux
I noticed Whitehall Jewellers (Ticker Symbol: JWL) on Friday of last week, trading at about .98cents and a 52 week high of over $8.50. The company isn't in the best financial shape and was the only diamond retail chain not to turn a profit last quarter, but the risk vs. reward looked good to me at that time. If they were able to have a good holiday season I could picture this going to $4 or $5. Of course it took off today and closed at $1.36. So of course I wish I would have mentioned it over the weekend, as it's already up almost 40%. Even at the current price there is plenty of upside.
I've also started to watch Taser (Ticker Symbol: TASR) closely over the last few days. TASR hits a new 52 week low today due to a notice of official investigation from the SEC regarding price manipulation. The product is real and we all know it works, sometimes just a little too well.
I think TASR has good upside from here with a 52 week high of over $33. I don't see the stock price getting back there anytime soon, but I don't think a double back to $10.00 within 8 months is unreasonable.

do you do stock trading online? what company do you use? I've been wanting to get into buying some stock, but want to know more about it... nice post man...
Thanks I have a few different accounts.
I have both a Scottrade account and a sharebuilder account. The Scottrade account will let you buy and sell any stock, no minimum needed to open an account. Alot of the bigger firms have a $1k or greater limit to opening an account.
sharebuilder.com is great for a beginning investor. The site is very user friendly. You can make purchases for as little as $4.00, they offer a great number of companies, but not some of the more obscure or lower priced stuff...
Enrolling in Dividend Reinvestment Plans directly through a companies transfer agent is also a great way to get started. For some Plans there are no fees at all associated with your purchases.
I have these type of plans set up for Pfizer, Home Depot, Johnson & Johnson and Exxonmobil.
hey thanks for the hat tip, I think I'll give it a try, If I have any questions, would it be cool if I ask you?
100%.. No problem!
