The Worcester Sharks exploded for 5 goals in the 3rd period tonight to blow open a 1 goal game and defeat the Hartford Wolfpack 6-0 in their AHL playoff matchup. A tightly contested game was turned into a one sided affair as Worcester took Wolfpack goalie Matt Zaba to school in the third period. The game was a little bit chippy and did feature one lackluster fight captured above but the barrage of pucks finding the back of the net was much more exciting than any fisticuffs.
Worcester has won 2 in a row to even the series at 2 games each. This 6-0 thrashing put the momentum back on the side of the Sharks as they head to Hartford for game 5 tomorrow.
There was a family of Hartford fans sitting right behind me, a mom, dad and a 10 year old or so boy. I was on good behavior because of the kid and was careful not to swear as I muttered or yelled out which is typical when watching sports... When Worcester went ahead 4-0 they got up to leave, so I turned to them and said, "See ya, thanks for coming" to which the mother flips me the bird and dad says "be quiet dickhead" HA!! So here i was being careful all night as to my tongue and these Hartford parents cursed me out! Too funny.
Game 6 is Saturday night at the DCU, plenty of good seats available. You can't beat playoff hockey for this price.
